Keiko Mori is actually attending Tokyo College of Photography to relearn the basics of photography. She says “I’ve been doing it my own way up until now, but I really want to start from the basics and relearn!”
Here is an exhibition taking place this week.
The “Graduate School Exhibition” organized by the school will be held in Yokohama from Thursday, February 25th to Monday, March 1st, where I will be exhibiting life-size photographs of gorillas and photographs of nose prints (wrinkles on the nose) along with other students’ works.
The photographs are huge! Keiko enlarged four photographs, including of a silverback (adult male), to a huge size of 220cm x 147cm. When she made the photographs life-size again, she, who has been watching gorillas for many years, was surprised, saying, “Shh, the silverback’s face is huge!”
And there are 30 photographs of nose prints. Nose, nose, nose, nose, nose, nose…
You might be thinking, “How much do you like noses!?” But nose prints are very important for identifying individual gorillas. That’s why I would like everyone to see the “30 nose prints,” each of which is different.
If you’re interested, I’d be happy if you could stop by!
